La différence de saturation de teinture entre la chaîne et la trame crée un rendu riche et profond, impossible à obtenir avec des tissus teints en pièce.
Plusieurs procédés de finition — notamment le blanchiment, le lavage du vêtement, la pulvérisation et le vieillissement — confèrent à la veste un aspect usé unique. Le col en cuir de vache apporte une touche distinctive.
